Happy New Year!

2010 is done and a new year is here. Time flies so quickly. I remember when I was young, the holidays couldn't come fast enough and Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve always felt like they dragged on forever. Nowadays, the fly by in a fury. So many people make resolutions for the new year, but I am not one of them. I don't believe in making changes because a certain date is changing on the calendar. I try to make monthly goals to work towards. So my goal for January is to spend at least one day working on my writing. Not writing for school, but on my personal ideas. I've not been working on anything in a while, and I want to remedy that. So that is January's goal.

What can I say about 2010? It was a year filled with ups and downs. Like any other year really. Some I probably could've changed or done differently and others, I simply had no control over. What I can say is that through each hardship I know I learned something and for each good memory, I will truly cherish it. I have many goals and dreams, and they all tend to go hand in hand. A dream is just fuel for a goal. A goal is the result of having a dream. If I could give any advice that I'd want people to take to heart it's that you should never stop dreaming. If you have a dream, go for it. Plan for it and never stop. Reaching for what you want is never a waste of time. It's nourishment for the soul.

So I'm raising my proverbial glass to 2011. Here's to making the best out of every situation that life hands us.
Live. Love. Laugh. Never look back. Stay present. Stay focused. Smile.

  1. Yes. Yes, no sense of thinking everything can change immediately because of a different number on the calendar!

It is called being realistic! :)

2010 taught me that life is terrible, painful, amazing and beautiful.

Nothing will ever be perfect, nor should it be. A new year will bring new amazement and beauty and strengthen already awesome friendships!
